Install KDM in ten minutes.
Eight short walkthroughs covering install, rates, windows, popup, pickup, customization, scope grants, and troubleshooting.
Table of contents
Install Kuwait Delivery Manager.
- 01 Open the KDM listing on the Shopify App Store.
- 02 Click Install, then Add app on the Shopify prompt.
- 03 Approve the requested permissions. These include orders, customers, products, shipping, delivery customizations, checkout validations, markets and locations.
- 04 KDM loads 160 Kuwait areas on first install. If none appear, press Seed Kuwait areas on the Dashboard. Then use the Dashboard links to turn on the KDM app embed in your theme editor (and, on Shopify Plus, the checkout extension).
Set per-area shipping rates.
- 01 Open Apps → Kuwait Delivery Manager → Areas in Shopify admin.
- 02 Each row is a Kuwait area in EN + AR. Click an area to edit.
- 03 Set Delivery price (KWD) and Delivery active. Days in advance, prep time and same-day cutoff live in Settings → Delivery timing.
- 04 Save. KDM syncs the rate into your Kuwait shipping zone, or into your Kuwait market if your store uses market-based shipping. If a sync fails, the reason shows on the Dashboard and Areas pages.
- 05 Click Force Sync Rates at the top of the Areas page if a rate has not appeared within a minute.
Configure delivery windows.
- 01 Open KDM admin → Delivery Windows.
- 02 Add a window — name (Morning), start (09:00), end (12:00).
- 03 Set Active days. KDM defaults to Sun-Thu, the Kuwait work week.
- 04 To limit bookings, turn on Require delivery time slot selection in Settings, then set Max deliveries per time slot (0 = unlimited). Pro plan and above. Add blocked dates here for holidays and closed days.
- 05 Save. The storefront popup picks up the change within about five minutes.
Enable the storefront popup.
- 01 Turn on the KDM app embed in Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds. No theme code edits.
- 02 Choose when the popup appears in Settings → Popup appearance: on page load (default) or only after a customer adds a product to the cart. Customers can always open it from the delivery bar or the delivery-area link in the cart. In add-to-cart mode, turn off Buy it now and other dynamic checkout buttons, because they skip the cart.
- 03 After a customer picks an area, the delivery bar shows the area and slot with a Change button. Returning shoppers see "Delivering to [area] · Change", and after 30 days they are asked to confirm it.
- 04 Geolocation auto-detect uses the browser's location with one click to pre-select an area.
Customize popup copy and colors.
- 01 Open KDM admin → Messages to edit button and label text (Pro plan and above). Popup titles are in Settings → Popup appearance.
- 02 Edit EN and AR labels — popup title, button text, slot category headers (Morning / Afternoon / Evening).
- 03 Every plan can set the banner colors, accent and logo in the theme editor (App embeds → KDM). On Enterprise you can also set brand colors and a logo in Settings → Popup appearance.
- 04 Save. Changes reach the storefront within about five minutes.
Enable click-and-collect. Pro plan and above.
- 01 Open KDM admin → Settings → Pickup and turn pickup on (Pro plan and above).
- 02 Add the pickup address in English and Arabic, plus any instructions.
- 03 Customers see a Pickup tab in the popup alongside Delivery.
- 04 The order in Shopify admin shows pickup location and chosen slot.
Grant read_customers if the admin schedule shows "Guest."
- 01 KDM needs the read_customers scope to show real customer names on the schedule page.
- 02 When KDM adds a permission, Shopify asks you to approve it. KDM shows a banner with a Grant permission button.
- 03 Click Grant permission. The admin schedule reloads with real names.
- 04 If the prompt does not appear, open Apps → Kuwait Delivery Manager → Schedule and look for the orange banner. Click Grant permission there.
Troubleshooting.
Q. Shipping rates are not showing at checkout.
Click Force Sync Rates on the Areas page. Confirm the area's Active toggle is on and the price is greater than zero.
Q. The popup does not appear on the storefront.
Confirm the KDM app embed is on in your theme editor. If the popup is set to open after add to cart, it will not open on page load; use the delivery bar instead. If you reinstalled, open Areas and click Sync missing Kuwait areas.
Q. Customer name shows as "Guest" in the admin schedule.
See section 07 above — grant the read_customers scope.
Q. Arabic copy is not translating on the AR locale.
Confirm your storefront has the AR locale enabled in Shopify admin → Languages. KDM auto-detects from the Shopify Locale header.
Q. A new Kuwait area is missing from KDM.
Open Areas → Sync missing Kuwait areas. If the area is genuinely new (PAHW just announced it), email support@falaq.solutions with the PACI number.
